As an area of low pressure slowly pulls away from the region today, windy conditions and a few isolated rain and snow showers will be a threat. The winds will relax by tonight with improving conditions for the weekend.
An area of low pressure will continue to lift into the Canadian Maritimes with a series of troughs of low-pressure supporting broken cloud cover and isolated rain and snow showers today. Winds will be from the northwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts over 30 mph. Temperatures will rise into the mid-40s to lower 50s for highs.
High pressure will be in control tonight on through tomorrow with clearing skies expected. Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts over 25 mph at times. Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s for lows and lower to mid-50s for highs.
High pressure will exit on Sunday with increasing clouds expected. Rain is expected by the late evening. Winds will back to the north at 5 mph. Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and upper 50s to mid-60s for highs.
An area of low pressure will produce periods of rain and embedded thunderstorms Sunday night on through Monday. Rainfall amounts over an inch will be possible which may support urban flooding. Temperatures on Monday will range from the lower to mid-50s for lows and lower to mid-60s on Long Island and upper 60s to lower 70s elsewhere for highs.

Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the lower to mid-40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows and mid-50s to lower 60s for highs. Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the mid-30s for lows and upper 30s to mid-40s for highs.
High pressure will produce clear skies to scattered cloud cover on Thursday. Temperatures will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s for lows and upper 40s to mid-50s for highs.
