A cold front will approach on Friday with widespread showers and isolated thunderstorms. A few thunderstorms will be capable of occasional lightning, heavy downpours, hail, and wind gusts over 40 mph. Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-60s for lows and mid-60s to lower 70s on Long Island and mid-70s to lower 80s elsewhere for highs.
The cold front will clear the coast on Saturday morning with lingering showers followed by clearing skies in the afternoon and evening.
