Tropical Storm Isaias is lifting towards the region this morning with heavy rain and strong winds expected, especially this afternoon.  Unsettled conditions are expected to linger through this weekend.

 

Isaias will lift through the region today with waves of moderate to very heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.  Some of the thunderstorms will feature vivid lightning, torrential downpours, wind gusts over 60 mph, and isolated tornadoes.  Winds will back from the south to northwest at 20 to 50 mph with gusts up to 75 mph along the coast and 15 to 30 mph with gusts over 40 mph over the interior.  Temperatures will rise into the mid-70s to lower 80s for highs today.  Below are additional details on the storm's impacts.

A cold front will follow by tomorrow morning with lingering showers followed by clearing skies in the afternoon.  Winds will be from the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s for lows and lower to mid-80s for highs.

 

The cold front will stall off the coast on Thursday with a weak wave of low pressure producing scattered clouds and a few isolated showers.  Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will range from the upper 50s to mid-60s over the interior and mid to upper 60s along the coast for lows and upper 70s to mid-80s for highs.

 

The stationary front will linger over the coastal waters while waves of weak low-pressure systems pass to the east of the region with scattered to broken cloud cover and a few isolated showers Friday on through Monday.  Most locations will remain dry and the showers will be weak.  Temperatures range from the mid-60s to lower 70s for lows and upper 70s to mid-80s for highs.
