Waves of moderate to heavy rainfall will produce the threat for flash flooding through this evening with significant impacts on the morning and evening rush hours.

 

A warm front along the coast will continue to produce waves of moderate to heavy rainfall through this afternoon.  The heavy rainfall will produce areas of flash flooding at times.  Rainfall amounts less than a half an inch is expected over the Poconos and Catskills, but rainfall amounts of 1" to 3" can be expected along the coast.  Winds will be from the east at 5 to 15 mph with gusts over 20 mph at times. Temperatures will rise into the mid to upper 70s for highs.

 

A cold front with waves of low pressure will follow this evening through early tomorrow morning with waves of showers and embedded thunderstorms.  The thunderstorms will be capable of intense downpours and occasional lightning.  Winds will back from the east to the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures tonight will fall into the upper 60s to lower 70s for lows.

 

The cold front will clear the coast tomorrow morning with lingering showers followed by clearing skies as high pressure passes to the north.  Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures tomorrow will rise into the mid to upper 70s for highs.

 

High pressure will shift towards the Canadian Maritimes on Saturday with scattered to broken cloud cover but dry weather conditions expected.  Winds will be from the east at 5 to 15 mph with gusts over 20 mph at times.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s for lows and mid-60s to lower 70s for highs.

 

A warm front will follow on Sunday with widely scattered to scattered showers in the afternoon and evening hours.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the lower to mid-60s for lows and lower to mid-70s for highs. 

 

A cold front will follow on Sunday night into Monday morning with scattered showers followed by clearing skies in the afternoon and evening hours.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the mid to upper 60s for lows and mid to upper 70s for highs.

 

High pressure will be in control Tuesday on through Thursday with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the upper 40s to mid-50s for lows and mid to upper 60s for highs.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the lower to mid-40s over the interior and upper 40s to mid-50s along the coast for lows and mid-60s to lower 70s for highs.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the upper 40s to lower 50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-70s for highs.
