Tranquil conditions will continue through tomorrow, but a powerful cold front will follow by Saturday morning with rain and snow followed by a colder weather pattern.

 

High pressure will pass to the north of the region today through tomorrow with scattered to broken cloud cover.  Winds will veer from the southwest to southeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid-40s for highs this afternoon.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to lower 50s along the coast for highs.

 

The cold front will move through the region with a wave of low-pressure with waves of rainfall, heavy at times Friday night through Saturday morning.  The rain will mix over to snow in the Poconos and Catskills with minor snow accumulation possible on cold surfaces.  Skies will clear in the afternoon with lingering snow flurries a threat.  Winds will veer to the west at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to mid-40s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

 

A series of weak troughs and cold fronts will follow Monday through Thursday with scattered clouds and isolated flurries on the coast and snow showers in the Poconos and Catskills.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s for lows and mid to upper 30s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the lower to mid-20s for lows and lower to mid-30s for highs.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s for lows and lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the mid-10s to lower 20s for lows and upper 20s to lower 30s for highs.
