Tranquil conditions return through the weekend with plenty of sunny skies.  Rain and snow return for the start of next week.

 

High pressure will build into the region today with scattered clouds and a few flurries via lake effect snow from Lake Ontario in western New York.  A dusting of snow will be possible from the snow showers.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 20s to lower 30s for highs.

 

High pressure will pass over the region tonight through tomorrow with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Winds will back from the northwest to southwest at 5 to 15 mph by tomorrow evening.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the single digits to lower 10s over the interior and mid to upper 10s along the coast for lows and upper 20s to lower 30s for highs.

 

An area of low pressure will approach on Monday with periods of snow mixing over to rain over the interior and rain along the coast.  Snowfall accumulation of 2" to 4" for elevations over 700 feet over the interior can be expected.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the mid-10s to lower 20s for lows and lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to mid-40s along the coast for highs.

 

Scattered clouds are expected on Tuesday with high pressure over the region.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s for highs.

 

A series of weak cold fronts will move through the region Wednesday through Saturday with scattered clouds and the threat of isolated rain and snow showers.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the upper 20s to lower 30s for lows and mid to upper 40s for highs.  Temperatures on Thursday will range from the upper 20s to mid-30s for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the mid-10s to lower 20s over the interior and lower to mid-20s along the coast for lows and mid-20s to lower 30s for highs.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the single digits to mid-10s over the interior and upper 10s to mid-20s along the coast for lows and upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for highs.
