Sunday night into Monday: Increasing clouds overnight can be expected as a weak low-pressure system tracks towards the area. Early in the night, temperatures will cool off into the low to mid-20s for the interior, and mid to upper 20s for the coast. Locally colder temperatures are possible before cloud cover becomes more established and winds begin to increase out of the south.
Monday: For the interior, expect wet snow to begin between 10 am-12 pm, with precipitation making it to the coast closer to noon. Snow may mix in at the onset of precipitation in Zone 3, but a southerly wind and warm temperatures mean that precipitation will quickly go over to all rain. Zone 2 has a greater chance of remaining snow after the initial onset of precipitation, but temperatures will also warm above freezing here, limiting accumulations
to colder surfaces. Zone 3 should stay mostly snow, with a wet accumulation on colder surfaces expected. Precipitation will end for the interior around 3-4 pm and will exit the coast by 7-8 pm. High temperatures in the mid-30s at the coast and low 30s for the interior are anticipated.
Monday Night into Tuesday: Besides some early snow showers for the interior, temperatures in the low 30s for the coast and mid to upper 20s for the interior are expected. Winds initially out of the south will become more westerly, with a speed of 5-15 mph expected.
Tuesday: Another chance of some light rain and show showers for the region, with highs in the mid-30s for the coast and low 30s for the interior, and a moderate southwest wind.
Tuesday Night into Wednesday: Overnight temperatures in the lower 30s for the coast and upper 20s for the interior. Some light interior flurries and snow showers are possible.
Wednesday: High temperatures in the low to mid-40s for the coast and the upper 30s to low 40s for the interior are possible out ahead of a cold front as low-pressure tracks north of the region. Afternoon rain showers may make their way into interior regions.
Wednesday Night into Thursday: Rain showers going over to some scattered snow showers are possible as temperatures fall into the lower 20s for the interior and low to mid-30s for the coast. Some uncertainty exists with these temperatures due to model differences in timing and magnitude of this cold air.
Thursday: Highs in the mid to upper 30s for the coast and mid to upper 20s for the interior with intervals of clouds and sun.
Thursday Night into Friday: Lows near 30 for the coast and near 20 for the interior.
Friday: Temperatures in the low to mid 30s regionwide are likely.
Weekend: Temperatures near or above-average expected, with the potential for precipitation for the area. Details will become more apparent as the weekend gets closer. Stay tuned for more updates.
