Sunday Night into Monday: Temperatures will fall into the low to mid-40s for the interior and mid to upper 40s for the coast as winds become light and variable. Partly to mostly cloudy skies are expected to continue.
Monday: A similar day to Sunday is expected, with temperatures expected to warm into the upper 50s to mid-60s at the coast, and mid-50s to low 60s for the interior. A few locations away from the immediate coast but not too far into the interior could see temperatures approach the upper 60s. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy, light winds will continue, and a very isolated threat of a rain shower is possible for the late
afternoon.
Monday Night into Tuesday: Temperatures regionwide will drop into the low to mid-40s with partly cloudy to mostly clear skies and light winds expected.
Tuesday: With winds out of the southwest at 10-15 mph throughout most of the region, high temperatures have the potential to push into the low 70s throughout much of the region, especially along the coastal plain. Highs in the mid-60s to low 70s for the coast and low to upper 60s for the interior are expected.
Locations along the immediate coast, such as the south shore of Long Island, coastal Connecticut, and southwestern NJ may see temperatures a bit cooler than surrounding areas due to ocean influence. A weakening cold front approaching the region may keep far portions of the interior cooler as well, with an isolated threat of rain showers.
Tuesday Night into Wednesday: Temperatures in the upper 40s to mid-50s throughout the region are expected as a low-pressure system begins its approach and keeps winds out of the south.
Wednesday: Although there is some uncertainty that remains with the exact timing of the cold front due to being ~3 days out, high temperatures will likely approach 70 again within the coastal plain as moderate winds (10-20 mph) continue out of the south. High temperatures in the mid to upper 60s for the coast are expected. The interior will likely see temperatures warm into the upper 50s to mid-60s before quickly falling as the cold front moves
through. The coast will see temperatures tumble later in the afternoon as the cold front moves east.
Some rain and showers will move through with the associated cold front.
Wednesday Night into Thursday: Winds will switch from a southerly direction to a more northwesterly direction with the passing of this cold front. Wind speeds sustained around 10-20 mph can be expected, with higher gusts along the coast likely. Temperatures along the coast are expected to fall into the lower 40s to upper 30s, with the interior falling into the upper 20s to lower 30s.
Thursday: A day of below normal temperatures is expected. Highs along the coast will likely remain in the upper 40s to mid-50s, with the interior seeing temperatures in the low to mid-40s. Winds will likely remain breezy out of the northwest.
Thursday Night into Friday: Temperatures in the low to mid-30s for the interior and low 40s for the coast are expected.
Friday: Temperatures will warm up and spring back into the mid-50s to low 60s for the coast, and lower to upper 50s for the interior is likely.
Weekend: Temperatures for the first half of the weekend will likely be around average, but another shot of below normal temperatures will likely move in for the second half of the weekend.
My Final Discussion with NY NJ PA Weather: Since the end of January, I have been given the platform to share important weather information with thousands of people. No matter the type of weather that was being thrown our way, providing important weather information to the public has been the goal of mine! Being given this internship opportunity with NY NJ PA Weather was a great experience overall. All the advice, critiques, and
information Mr. DiMartino has given me over these 3 short months has me confident and better prepared for my time ahead in the field of meteorology! Thank you for reading my forecast discussions! :)
