A cold front will slowly move through the region today with showers and a few thunderstorms.  An active weather pattern continues into the weekend.

 

An area of low pressure with a warm front and cold front will lift through the region with periods of showers and a few thunderstorms.  The best potential for thunderstorms will be found over southeastern Pennsylvania, central New Jersey, and southern New Jersey.  The thunderstorms will be capable of heavy downpours, occasional lightning, small hail, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  Winds will veer to the southwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-60s over the interior and New York City metropolitan area and mid-60s to lower 70s in the Philadelphia metropolitan area and southern New Jersey for highs.

 

The cold front will clear the region tonight with a few lingering showers in the evening followed by clearing skies.  Winds will veer to the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will fall into the lower to mid-40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows.

 

High pressure will build into the region tomorrow with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the mid-50s to lower 60s over the interior and lower to mid-60s along the coast for highs.

 

An area of low pressure will slowly approach on Friday with increasing clouds in the morning and widespread showers by the evening.  Winds will back to the southeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-40s for lows and upper 50s to mid-60s for highs.

 

The area of low pressure will slowly exit on Saturday with periods of showers throughout the region capable of heavy downpours at times.  Temperatures will range from the upper 30s to lower 40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-50s over the interior and mid to upper 50s along the coast for highs.

 

Another area of low pressure will approach on Sunday with increasing clouds through the day followed by widespread showers in the evening.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the lower to mid-30s over the interior and upper 30s to lower 40s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 50s over the interior and upper 50s to lower 60s along the coast for highs.

 

A cold front will clear the region early on Monday with a few isolated showers followed by clearing skies in the afternoon and evening.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the lower to mid-40s over the interior and mid to upper 40s along the coast for lows and mid-50s to lower 60s over the interior and lower to mid-60s along the coast for highs.

 

High pressure will be in control on Tuesday and Wednesday with clear skies to scattered clouds.  Temperatures on Tuesday and Wednesday will range from the mid-30s to lower 40s over the interior and lower to mid-40s along the coast for lows and mid-50s to lower 60s over the interior and lower to mid-60s along the coast for highs.
