Tranquil and dry weather conditions will remain in place today, but hotter weather will return with highs pushing into the 90s for some locations.  Cooler weather returns for the rest of the week.

 

High pressure will remain in control with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Winds will back from the southwest to northwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to mid-80s over the interior, lower to mid-80s along the coast, and mid-80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

 

High pressure will remain in control tonight through Friday with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Winds will veer from the northwest to south at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s for lows and upper 60s to mid-70s along the coast, upper 70s to lower 80s over the interior, and lower to mid-80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the mid to upper 50s for lows and mid-60s to lower 70s along the coast, mid-70s to lower 80s over the interior, and upper 70s to mid-80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

 

A cold front will pass through the region on Saturday with isolated showers in the late afternoon and evening.  Fog will be a threat in the morning hours.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-60s for lows and lower to mid-70s over Long Island, upper 70s to mid-80s over the interior and New York City metropolitan area, and mid-80s to lower 90s in the Delaware River Valley and southern New Jersey for highs.

 

A frontal boundary will linger over the region Sunday through Wednesday with areas of fog and low clouds in the morning, scattered to broken clouds and isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Temperatures will waver depending on the frontal boundary location each day which will produce a highly volatile temperature regime through the forecast period.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the mid-50s to lower 60s over the interior and mid to upper 60s along the coast for lows and lower to mid-80s over the interior and mid-80s to lower 90s along the coast for highs.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the mid-40s to lower 50s over the interior and lower to mid-50s along the coast for lows and mid-60s to lower 70s along the coast, upper 60s to mid-70s over the interior, and lower to mid-70s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.  Temperatures on Tuesday will range from the lower to mid-50s for lows and mid-60s to lower 70s along the coast and lower to mid-70s elsewhere for highs.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the lower to mid-60s for lows and lower to mid-80s along the coast and mid-80s to lower 90s elsewhere for highs.
