With Tropical Storm Henri approaching for Sunday, watches and warnings have been issue for the region. The watches and warnings have been expanded to the west due to the potential for the storm to track further west than currently
expected.
Tropical Storm Watches have been issued for the central New Jersey and the New York City metropolitan area for Sunday for the potential for tropical storm conditions in the next 48 hours.
A Tropical Storm Warning has been issued for western Long Island for tropical storm conditions likely in the next 48 hours.
A Hurricane Watch has been issued for interior southern Connecticut for the potential for hurricane conditions in the next 48 hours.
A Hurricane Warning has been issued for central and eastern Long Island and coastal Connecticut for hurricane conditions likely in the next 48 hours.
Tropical Storm Henri is expected to make landfall somewhere between central Long Island and Rhode Island on Sunday afternoon with intense rainfall, strong wind gusts over 75 mph, isolated tornadoes, and significant coastal flooding. The storm is expected to make landfall as a category one hurricane at this time.
