Hot and humid conditions today will give way to a wet weather pattern through early next week as a cold front stall over the region.  The remnants of Ida will be a threat for the end of next week with flooding a threat.

TODAY

A cold front will slowly drop through the region with fog in the morning giving way to scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening hours.  The thunderstorms will be capable of intense downpours, frequent lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  Localized flooding will be a threat.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the lower to mid-80s over the interior and upper 80s to lower 90s for highs.  A heat index in the mid-90s to lower 100s can be expected.

TONIGHT THROUGH TOMORROW

The cold front will stall over the region tonight through tomorrow with periods of showers and thunderstorms.  The showers and thunderstorms will be capable of heavy downpours which may produce areas of flash flooding.  Winds will back to the southeast at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the mid to upper 60s over the interior and lower to mid-70s along the coast for lows and mid to upper 70s for highs.

SUNDAY

The stationary boundary will drift north with broken to overcast cloud cover and scattered showers and thunderstorms.  The thunderstorms will be capable of heavy downpours, frequent lightning, and wind gusts over 40 mph.  Winds will back to the south at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the mid to upper 60s over the interior and upper 60s to lower 70s along the coast for lows and upper 70s to mid-80s for highs.

MONDAY

Another cold front will approach from the Great Lakes with waves of showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-70s for lows and upper 70s to lower 80s over the interior, lower to mid-80s along the coast, and mid to upper 80s in the Delaware River Valley for highs.

TUESDAY

The cold front will slowly sink south on Tuesday with waves of showers and thunderstorms in the morning giving way to clearing skies in the afternoon from north to south.  Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s for lows and upper 70s to mid-80s for highs.

WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY

A stationary frontal boundary and the remnants of Ida will produce periods of showers capable of tropical downpours through the period.  Flooding will be a threat.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid-60s over the interior and mid to upper 60s along the coast for lows and mid-70s to lower 80s for highs.

FRIDAY

High pressure will build into the region with lingering isolated showers in the morning giving way to clearing skies in the afternoon with falling humidity.  Temperatures will range from the upper 50s to lower 60s over the interior and mid to upper 60s along the coast for lows and upper 70s to lower 80s for highs.
