Quite the unsettled week ahead as the remnants of Hurricane Ida take aim at our region by midweek. There is a major concern for flash flooding with this system. By the weekend we will experience a taste of fall.
Sunday: Onshore flow will provide us with a dreary day. Skies will be mostly cloudy with showers possible. Temperatures will rise into the upper 60s to mid-70s along the coast and low 70s to upper 70s for the interior. Winds will be from the east at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will drop into the mid-60s to low 70s.
Monday: Southwest flow returns and will usher in higher temps and humidity. A mix of sun and clouds is expected. A stray shower or thunderstorm can't be ruled out. Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to mid-80s. Winds will be from the southwest at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-60s to low 70s.
Tuesday: Clouds will begin to increase as the remnants of Ida make their approach to the region. Showers are possible during the overnight hours. Temperatures will rise into the upper 70s to mid-80s for southern locations and low 70s to upper 70s for northern locations. Winds will be from the west at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will dip into the low 60s to near 70.
Wednesday: The remnants of Ida will be over the region today and will have periods of rain that will be heavy at times. FLASH FLOODING will be a threat. Winds will be from the northeast at 15-25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph possible. Total rainfall accumulations of 2"-6" are expected. High temperatures ranging from the mid-60s to the low 70s are expected. Overnight lows will drop into the upper 50s to mid-60s.
Thursday: Skies will begin to clear out as the remnants of Ida pull away from the region. Lingering showers are possible for coastal regions. Much more comfortable conditions will be in place. Temperatures will rise into the upper 60s to mid-70s. Winds will be from the north at 10-15 mph. Overnight lows will drop into the low 50s to upper 50s.
Friday: Another comfortable day is expected with sunny skies and low humidity. Temperatures will rise into the upper 60s to mid-70s. Winds will be from the north at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will dip down into the low 50s to near 60.
Weekend: A pleasant weekend is expected with high pressure in control. Temperatures will range from the low 70s to near 80. Winds will be from the southwest at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will range from the upper 50s to mid-60s.
