A stubborn, slow-moving low-pressure system will hang around offshore and provide the region with cloud cover and showers through midweek. After its departure, warmer conditions will return. A strong cold front looks to move in as we head into next weekend, bringing rain and a cool down.

Wednesday: Warmer conditions return as the low-pressure system pulls away and southwest flow sets up. Intervals of clouds and sun are expected. A stray afternoon shower can't be ruled out. High temperatures will range from the low to upper 70s. Winds will be from the southwest at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will dip into the low 50s to near 60.
Thursday: A warm fall day is ahead with partly cloudy skies and dry conditions. High temperatures will be in the low 70s to upper 70s while some mountain locations are stuck in the upper 60s. Winds will be from the northwest at 5-10 mph. Overnight lows will fall into the mid-50s to low 60s.

Weekend: A strong cold front will be approaching the region, bringing rain and knocking temperatures down in its wake. Ahead of it, the southwest flow will allow temperatures to be in the low 70s to near 80. Once it passes, temperatures will drop into the upper 50s to mid-60s. Rainfall of a half-inch to an inch looks possible but details will become clearer as this comes closer.
