A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for all of the northern Mid-Atlantic through 8 PM this evening.  The thunderstorms will be capable of intense downpours, frequent lightning, small hail, and wind gusts ranging from 40 to 70 mph.  Flash flooding, hail damage, and wind damage are threats, along with poor visibility.
