An active, tropical weather pattern will remain in place through early next week, but a brief break is on the horizon.

A weak trough will linger over the region through this afternoon with areas of morning fog giving way to scattered cloud cover and a few isolated thunderstorms.  Winds will be from the southwest at 5 to 10 mph.  Temperatures will rise into the upper 80s to lower 90s with a heat index in the mid 90s to lower 100s.

A weakening cold front will move through the region this evening on through tomorrow morning with with scattered showers and strong to severe thunderstorms.  The thunderstorms will be capable of torrential downpours, frequent lightning, hail, and wind gusts over 60 mph.  Wind damage and flash flooding are potential impacts.  The cold front will stall over the coastal waters and weaken into a trough over the region.  Winds will veer from the southwest to northwest at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures tomorrow will range from the upper 60s to mid-70s for lows and mid to upper 80s for highs.

A weak trough will linger over the region while high pressure passes to the north with scattered clouds and an isolated shower possible on Saturday.  Winds will veer from the northwest to southeast through the day.  Temperatures on Saturday will range from the mid to upper 60s for lows and lower to mid-80s on the coast and mid-80s to lower 90s elsewhere for highs.

A weak trough will linger over the region Sunday on through Tuesday with areas of fog in the morning and scattered clouds with isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon.  Humid conditions can be expected with low temperatures in the lower to mid-70s and high temperatures in the mid-80s to lower 90s along the coast and lower to mid-90s elsewhere for highs with a heat index in the mid-90s to lower 100s.

A strong cold front will follow on Wednesday with widespread showers and thunderstorms.  Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the upper 60s to mid-70s for lows and upper 70s to mid-80s for highs.
